We haven’t played “painted or natural brick” in a while. This whole row is natural brick except for one in the center that just got painted yellow. A friend mine really likes the yellow. Which do you like better?

If you have any fun or interesting animal/pet photos please shoot me an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say what neighborhood you’re from or upload to the PoPville flickr pool with your pets name and neighborhood. I can’t guarantee I’ll get them all posted but I’ll do my best.

“I live in the middle of U Street and Adams Morgan. Attached please find a picture of my wolf-dog-animal-type hamming it up for my friend who asked if she could take pictures of him for a photography class.

My answer was, OF COURSE!!!”

“Here’s a photo for Afternoon Animal Fix – A lone male Killer Whale seen Last week during our ocean birding trip off Monterey, CA.”

“Buster from Friendship Heights enjoying the sunset on vacation at the Jersey Shore!”

$1300 sound right for this 1 bedroom basement apartment?

“Dear PoPville,

Do you or any of your readers know where old electronics can be dropped off in DC for recycling.”

Anyone know if the Ft. Totten transfer station takes electronics? Are there any charities around town that take old electronics?

“Dear PoPville,

Can it really be legal for valet parking to set up in an area where the parking sign says “no parking / no standing anytime”? As a kicker, his stand is set up on a bike rack.

That’s Mass ave NW heading NW between 4th and 5th st NW during rush hour. Definitely not helpful that someone stopped there.

Google street view shows the parking sign / bike rack very clearly.”

A lot of folks have requested this one. It was actually featured as a GDoN back in Oct. ’09. At the time it was going for $875,000 which prompted a, uh, spirited debate.

Today this 5 bed/5.5 bath is going for $847,770.

From an email:

“The restaurant is excited now to be offering delivery and call-ahead pick up service for their customers in the DC area. Just launched, the entire menu is available for pick up or delivery, including the popular market lunch specials and barbecue combos. Where patrons once had to go through the line to get their barbecue packed up to go, they can now call a dedicated line (202.556.2045) to place their order for pick up at the host stand or have their barbecue delivered to their doorstep.

What’s better, during the upcoming Labor Day weekend, Hill Country will even deliver lip-smackin’ barbecue directly to a customer’s picnic blanket on the Mall or the Capitol steps!

Delivery is free with a minimum $20 order in the immediate Penn Quarter neighborhood (H Street, NW down to Constitution and between 4th and 9th Streets, NW). For a minimal delivery fee of $2.50 and a minimum $50 order, Hill Country will deliver to a wider delivery zone in the downtown area (please find a PDF of the delivery zone attached for your reference – U Street is our northern border).”

Hill Country is located at 410 7th St, NW in Penn Quarter.

Back in April we briefly spoke about Red Toque when they got a new awning. I’ve since heard from folks that the food is awesome but they never seem to be very busy. And since we’ve been on a kabob roll I thought it was time for a proper judging of Red Toque. They are located at 6th and R St, NW and you can see their menu here. Is the food as good as I hear it is? Any must order items?
