From an email:

Columbia Heights Day starts its summer happy hours this evening. These bar fundraisers are an opportunity for people to learn more about the 2011 festival, take advantage of drink specials and hang out with their friends and neighbors.

We are also encouraging people to donate $5 to our “5 for 5” campaign to celebrate the fifth year of the festival. We are also sellingDC flag T-shirts — $15 each or two for $25.

All fundraisers are scheduled for 7 – 11 pm.

July 14 – Wonderland
July 28 – Blue Banana
August 25 – Wonderland

And, remember, this year’s Columbia Heights Day festival is on Saturday, August 27.

See you in the beergarden

  • Loving the vintage logo!

This is all very confusing – if you go to that website it touts in large letters “Planetarium Saved!” so who knows what that is all about……More important, I have lived in Arlington 30 years and in the area 25 years before that, and I have never heard of this place or organization, so perhaps their marketing department is the real problem………

Keep up the good work our Prince!

Shouldn’t the happy hours be at CH bars? Would Merdian Pint or Room 11 not participate?

    • Rockstar

      They are at CH bars

    • Columbia Heights Day

Those dates are just for the three confirmed happy hour fundraisers confirmed at this time. We’ll be announcing more dates and bars soon.

Columbia Heights Day pretty much started out as Wonderland Day and has luckily grown larger every year.
Is it too soon to ask in advance that drunken adult hipsters, particularly grown women swinging heavy purses, please not stomp on/crowd out the toddlers at the petting zoo this year? I’m sorry you can’t get a good picture of the chicken with your iPhone but, um, you are 24 years old.
