Art Gallery Coming to old L and N Thrift Store Space at 1830 14th St, NW

Back in August ’10 we learned that L and N Thrift Store was closing at 1830 14th St, NW (just south of T St, NW across from Som Records.) I just saw today that a permit has gone up saying that it will become an art gallery:

I spoke with one of the workers who said it is a complete gut job and he let me take a peek. The space is much bigger than I thought. I’ll be sure to update as the gallery gets closer to opening.

That’s great news. The building is beautiful, and an art gallery will class up the joint.

It’s a partnership between Raven Arts and Bar Pilar folks, I believe.

Just what that spot needed. This strip of 14th is woefully short on galleries.

    diversity is good.

i wonder if they will survive.

not sure if PoP has featured it, but there is a really cool mural on the side of this building

now if that messy incense smelling store upstairs would do some cleaning. the front looks like a crack den door.

That incense smelling store upstairs is Hunted House and it sells vintage mid-century modern furniture. It is by no means messy.
