The 5pm Post – DC Lady Arm Wrestlers for Charity this Saturday–March 5th!

Mostly safe for work but a little cursing in the beginning of video.

“Dear PoP,

I thought you’d like to know about an event that is happening this Saturday—it is only $5 (nearly free!) and all the money goes to charity. I am one of the co-founders of the DC Lady Arm Wrestlers and this Saturday we are putting on another show.

Last year we had two bouts during which we raised more than $4500 for two local charities–The House of Ruth and Service Women’s Action Network.

March 5th is our third match-up and we hope to raise even more money for the Fisher House Foundation. Fisher House Foundation donates “comfort homes,” built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers. These homes enable family members to be close to a loved one at the most stressful times – during the hospitalization for an unexpected illness, disease, or injury. All proceeds from the match–including admission fees and bets made on wrestler–will go to a DC area Fisher House.

Please help us get the word out about our event! And then come out to enjoy the antics and celebrate the smackdowns as an array of wrestlers wrangle for the coveted Golden Bicep, all while raising money for the Fisher House.

WHEN: Saturday, March 5th at 7:30 pm

WHERE: American Legion Post 8 on Capitol Hill—conveniently located a few blocks from Capitol South metro stop at 224 D Street, SE.

HOW MUCH WILL THIS COST ME: Tickets $5 at the door!”
