Ledroit Park News – Park and Restaurant Edition

by Prince Of Petworth November 16, 2010 at 12:30 pm 10 Comments

I know there are lots of fans of Ethiopian restaurant, Zenebech Injera, located at 608 T St, NW by Florida Ave so I wanted to share news that they’ve applied for a liquor license. Zenebech had also briefly closed last summer. Anyone been back recently?

I also wanted to share the news that the LeDroit Park Civic Association has put together a survey soliciting names for the new community park coming to 3rd and V Streets NW. I’m voting for Ledroit Park Park. You can fill out the survey here.

You can see more info about the park here.

I’ve been back to Zebebach recently and it is as awesome as ever. You can’t beat the portion sizes for the price.

Funny you ask! The hubby and I treated ourselves to take-out two nights ago. Delicious and filling and easy on the wallet. So delicious!

Looks like some good brick-proof windows with those bars on them. Should keep them safe from revenge-minded marauding packs of sober DC9 apologist hipsters.

Was there last week and food as delicious as ever, very generous portions and really great price ($20 dollars for two entres for 2, with drinks).

  • Got take out from Zenebech about a week ago and was just as tasty, plentiful and reasonable as ever.

Thanks for the plug on the park naming survey too!

I third (fourth?) the sentiments that Zenebech is as good as ever. In fact, this whole strip is pretty great despite the outward appearance. Wazobia is a friendly spot for very cheap happy hours ($2 beers)and good spicy food. Zee’s is also putting out tasty food and will hopefully have their liquor license in the next few weeks/months.

How about Edward Brook for the park? He was first African American senator elected post Reconstruction. He grew up in a house on 3rd st NW. At 1938? Or at 1936?
