13th Set of Entries for the 2010 Coolest Pet in PoPville Contest

Ed. Note: Entries accepted through Friday, July 23rd. Remember if you have a favorite please let me know. If you emailed a photo of your pet I promise all photos will be posted, patience please, there are tons (literally hundreds) of pets in PoPville!

A little clarification on voting – these are the preliminary rounds. Your comments help me a lot in selecting semifinalists for Dog, Cat, Other and Group. At this round of the selection process it is still a bit arbitrary. Though I may enlist the winners from last year to help out a bit. There will be semifinal voting (in a poll format) for every group then the winners of each category will face off for the ultimate winner. Stay tuned!

Jolene

“This is Jolene. She is a seven year old retired greyhound. LIKES: napping, just kickin’ it, chillin’, leftover rice and being aloof. Dislikes: Squirrels, water deeper than her ankles, temps above 90 and effort.”

Sadie

“This is Sadie, she’s a 7 year old Jack Russell who was rescued this year from the DC Humane Society. She lost her eye to glaucoma, it got infected while she was stray and was too bad to treat. But don’t worry, she’s happy and doesn’t seem to notice, except when she runs into things.”

Fritz

“This is Fritz using the toilet to do his business. He’s my first cat and I hate litter boxes, so the first thing I did was teach him how to use the toilet. He can’t flush by himself, but as long as I don’t have to buy litter or scoop his poop, I don’t care! :)

Oh, the deets: Fritz is 11 months old, I adopted him in February from the humane society in NE and we share a 1bath apartment on the Hill.”

Lots more great entries after the jump.

Princess Twinkles McCutestein

“She enjoys killing rats, eating rats and belly rubs.”

Moses

“Moses is a 7 year old Shepherd mutt. Jumping off docks after sticks was his favorite pastime until he hurt his leg recently. He’s on the mend but his dock jumping days are probably over, we’re happy we got this shot when he was in his prime. Pure joy.”

Trinidad

“Alley cat no more. This is Trinidad. We adopted him about a month ago from the DC Humane Society. We was really sick for a week or two, but we got him meds (and a vaporizer), and he’s doing great! He enjoys looking at the alley a lot more than he does living in it”

Charlie

“Charlie is a mature, but still very spry 8 year old who loves the beer patio at Wonderland and a good butt sniff anywhere he can get it…typical typical guy!”

Chester

“Chester – el mas loco”

Moose

Momma

George

“George playing with his “George” doll”

Brownie

“This is Brownie. He’s a 6 year old maine coon who was raised a country bumpkin, being found near a dairy farm when he was 6 weeks old, to now enjoying the sweet city life in Columbia Heights. He can sometimes be spotted getting his lovely fur brushed in the front yard while sporting his purple leash and sparkly harness.”

Bella

“Bella jumps for joy….and for her favorite frisbee.”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
