Woah, I think I’ve found some proper house porn again. While some may not like the decorating style, you can see that the home itself has some sweet old details. And the virtual tour features a ping pong table! Too good. How do you think this house ranks among other house porn we’ve looked at? It’s yours for $4,850,000.

  • Simply amazing. I am not one for classical style, but to me, that is done to perfection.

  • JenDC

…but an oddly tiny dining room for such a formal house.

  • DF

James Wolfensohn, former President of the World Bank used to live here. The pool out back is great.

    • Petworthian

Anyone else think we may be paying those guys too much?

  • CAHBF

Love the “sip and dip” pool. Fug kitchen. But definitely house porn.

  • RD

i was expecting more for $5M

  • djdc

I’m afraid that the filter (or whatever it is) on the computers at work is starting to act up on the pages that include entries about House P*rn (because of that word?). Anyone else have problems? Maybe it’s just a coincidence and paranoia.

WHo wants to get this and convert it into a 4-5 condo building.. lol

    • LJ

Ha, I’m sure the neighbors would go nuts protesting the rif-raf that 1/2 million condos would attract, ruining the character of the neighborhood, etc. (Leaving the zoning issues aside)

  • Florista

Sweet pool. Nice to have a sundeck off the bedroom, too!

  • Lady

It’s so hard to get around that style. Is boring taste inherited through the gene pool of the rich?

    • Anonymous

No. But only the young have good taste. Obviously.

  • mr bigglesworth

I know this house, I’ve been lucky enough to spend a lot of time in this house. A bit like a museum inside, but it’s spectacular. The oversided hot tub in the side yard is delightful.

I’d say it’s worth the $5 million, the address alone is probably worth over a million.

Adore it. Truly adore it. Very me.
Even if one could pay the price but … the taxes $31,533.22.
    So discouraging.

Truly lovely home, particularly the outdoor living areas. Would love to see this place thoughtfully renovated.

    • Anonymous

      Why renovated?

      • Anonymous

The bathrooms and kitchen look particularly outdated (tile, fixtures), as does the wet bar area. New paint colors would do wonders for the place.

But, the house is generally fantastic. Would love to spend a day lounging in this place.

        • Anonymous

The bathrooms look lovely, the old tile is gorgeous!

          • Anonymous

            Agree. Don’t touch a thing.
Just leave it, leave it, leave it alone.

  • Anonymous

I think the pictures might suggest that.
I don’t think it is small at all, that is, not even for this house.

  • super_b

those b&w speakers in the “second master suite” cost more than my car. ;(

  • Anonymous

Overpriced by 100k. I wouldn’t pay over $4,750,000 for it.

  • Kim

The round sunroom and skylight? I die!
