From a press release:

“A dire blood shortage continues across the U.S. It is the worst blood supply shortage in over a decade, according to the American Red Cross. The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is partnering with the American Red Cross in holding blood drives throughout the region. The YMCA Metropolitan Washington has branches and program centers in Washington, D.C., Maryland and northern Virginia.

“We encourage everyone who is healthy to sign up to give blood,” said Angie Reese-Hawkins, president and CEO of the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington. “The blood shortage is risking the lives of all of us.”  The YMCA has a 170-year history of stepping up to help in the communities it serves.

The dates and times for the blood drives are as follows:

Friday, September 23, Thursday, October 20 and Thursday, November 10 and Thursday, December 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the YMCA Anthony Bowen, Conference Room 2, 1325 W Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20009

Friday, Oct. 7 and Friday, December 9 from noon to 6 p.m. at the YMCA Alexandria, 420 East Monroe Ave., Alexandria, Va. 22301

Friday, December 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. YMCA Fairfax County Reston, 12196 Sunset Hills Rd., Reston, Va. 20190.

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
