A Thanksgiving Square Dance + Potluck at Eastern Market:

“November 30 @ 7:00 pm – 11:30 pm
$10
225 7th St. SE

The DC Square Dance Collective is pleased to invite you to a special holiday square dance! It’s a new venue, but expect our usual rowdy & rollicking style.

The wonderful Nils Fredland will be calling the dances, with tunes played by Elixir – one of the hottest dance bands on the east coast. With trombone, trumpet, clarinet, guitar, and fiddle, they play tunes from Irish, New England, and Quebecois traditions. It’s some seriously magical stuff, you guys.

The potluck will be from 7 to 8 and dance from 8:30 to 11:30 pm. Come for either or both! Feel free to unload your twenty extra servings of green bean casserole on us! Do note that for better or worse, we’ll have to ask y’all to leave the beer & wine at home – Eastern Market says no to BYO.

Everyone welcome – no experience, costume, or partner is required. All the dances will be taught and called.

The North Hall is part of the big Eastern Market building – use the entrance on the North Carolina Ave side.”
