  • This is so Baroque. In the seventeenth century, the French and the Italians loved to see babies doing things that adults do. They thought it was funny and charming. The child with the long hair, standing next to the goat, is likely meant to be Bacchus, the god of wine. He’s with two of his followers, who are drunk off their asses.
