As America’s next president is inaugurated, all eyes will be on DC. Many artists will be asking themselves what America means to them. For this one-night-only event, DC’s creative community won’t hold back.

A unique DC arts festival will take place on inauguration weekend at the new Edgewood Arts Center at 3415 8th St NE. MY AMERICA: DC Creates – Innovates – Unites will feature musical performances and visual art from artists based in the DC metro area. This evening festival will be open to all ages from 7-10pm on Saturday, January 21st, 2017.

The event will include performances by Elena & Los Fulanos, Brian Farrow, Charmaine Michelle, and Pagan Reagan.

Organizer and artist Deborah Lash lives and works in Washington, DC. “After the election results came in, I wanted to create this opportunity for our extraordinary arts community,” explains Lash. “We’ll be showcasing work from artists and musicians of all backgrounds. DC’s artists are in the right place at the right time.”

Funding for MY AMERICA: DC Creates – Innovates – Unites has been generously crowdsourced from donors around the country through Indiegogo. Tickets are $15 presale / $18 at the door. Any profits will go to the DC Arts & Humanities Education Collaborative, a local organization bringing quality arts and humanities education to children in DC.
