“Join CityCenterDC as it kicks off the holiday season with the third annual lighting of its glittering 75-foot tree — the largest in the DC area — adorned with over 150,000 lights and 4,500 ornaments on Saturday November 26 at 6pm. Emceed by NBC4’s Eun Yang, the festive evening will include a performance by the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington and delicious treats from RareSweets and Milk Bar. Take advantage of the city’s best retail and dining while you enjoy a festive evening with the entire family, marveling at the regal tree.”

  • Right near my office. Very cheery! Come and see!

  • Glad they are doing it — for some reason they did not last year.

They did it last year. I went to the opening with friends.

    • They definitely did it last year. There was a singing group from TN which excited my friend’s kids who were all visiting from TN. And I think it was a really warm day. It’s become a fun addition to our Thanksgiving weekend!

  • I think it was up? Maybe you missed it. When they take it down, there’s a period you can walk into the “tree” as sections are removed. “Reporting to you live from inside the City Center tree.”
