Tasty Burger Opening in Shaw (near 9:30 Club) “in early June”

2108 8th Street, NW

Thanks to Mitch for sending word about Tasty Burger’s now hiring notice:

“Over the next several weeks, we will be putting the final touches on the newest location of Tasty Burger, a local neighborhood burger joint that is opening up in Shaw in early June. Apply now to become one of our very first Team Members!

About Tasty Burger: With five locations on the East Coast, Tasty Burger is an American fast food burger joint that evokes feelings of the 1940s and 1950s when the American burger began its legendary rise to become a modern pop culture icon. Outstanding fresh ingredients are cooked to order in an incredibly fun, laid back atmosphere that has made ‘Tasty’ an instant classic. The burgers are made with all-natural hormone & antibiotic-free beef, alongside shakes, rings, fries, a full bar; and surrounded by local artists’ work, free foosball tables, and a digital jukebox with great music.”

Ed. Note: I’m encouraged by the peek inside I took on Saturday:

  • Wha..wha…what?

  • Anybody know who the local artist?

  • Ironically, “Tastyburger” was a long ago White Castle knockoff in Cleveland. they were second string to the main Castle knockoff “Royal Castle”. They were before my time, but apparently pretty awful.

  • I hope they have a Big Kahuna burger to go with that Pulp Fiction piece.

  • Sausage Gravy Fries! I am so there….

  • HOLD UP. You can get a burger, fries and a drink for…$8?
Not ripping people off…now that’s a restaurant concept I can get behind.

  • Tasty Burger was founded in Boston a few years back, by a fine dining group that still operates 2 upscale restaurants. It’s the official burger of the Boston Red Sox, and in addition to their 5 brick and mortar locations, they operate two locations inside Fenway Park – one serving just hamburgers or cheeseburgers, and one serving burgers with a selection of fried sides. Burgers are great, sides are good! They used to offer delivery in Boston through their mobile app, but seem to be no longer offering it sadly, as this was one of the best “drunk foods” you could order in Boston late night.
