I was wondering what was going on at the former Yummi Crawfish (puro cafe) before that – found lots of info from their design team:

“Once in a while we hear of a project that touches close to home and one of our latest clients, Zannchi is just that. A team of two young, inspired, Georgetown MBA students reached out to us to help bring their dreams into reality. What they have created is a fresh, new concept Korean restaurant that will be sure to grab the attention of any food fan in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Having family from Korea we were able to draw from family experience and trips abroad to create a amazing dining experience that will compliment the amazing food that will be served. Its been a pleasure working with their team and we cannot wait for the grand opening in a few short weeks. You can find their restaurant right in the heart of Georgetown on Wisconsin Avenue. The expected opening date is the second week of February so be sure to stop by and check out what big dreams and amazing execution can create. We have a few surprises in terms of the design and you will want to keep posted to see the big finished reveal. • Wow it is gorgeous. But it will always amaze me that people without restaurant experience sink a ton of money into opening a restaurant. ‘Big Dreams’, ‘inspiration’, and unbridled enthusiasm are only a nice adjunct to actually knowing the restaurant business. However I do wish them well and hope that they have the Next Big Thing.

    • But are those pictures of the rendering at the link? The area outside the window doesn’t look at all like Georgetown to me. Where is that?

      • That is definitely not the view from the window of this space (no glass buildings, no loop bike racks on Wisconsin), and it’s hard to tell what is a table and what is a reflection in a mirror, but the space in the rendering looks much larger than the Yummi/Puro space.

        • Yeah, that’s definitely not the design then. Although it will be interesting to see what it looks like and how the food is when it’s done (although it’ll probably be more foodie Korean, in which case, I’ll stick to Bul).

          • Good catch all. I sorta noticed the differences and didn’t notice them; just assumed it was the space from another angle or something. Well good. Here’s hoping they’ll keep it much more low key and not start off in a deep deep hole of debt.
