Li Ho Food Shuttered in Chinatown

501 H Street, NW

A reader reports:

“Li Ho Food at 501 H is dark and closed per last nights attempted visit. (Went to Full Kee instead… But I’m missing those Singapore rice noodles!!!!)”

You can count on one hand how many of the old school spots are left…

  • I think it’s blimp been closed for about a month now, if not more…

  • I came up empty too. However, I was looking for a place called Li Ho Fook, I was gonna get a big dish of beef chow mein.

what a drag – had one of my favorite late night meals there

  • This is a bummer. I remember going there several times as a kid, back before the arena was built and redevelopment started. I’d only been a few times in recent years – it was a little grungy, but the food was great.

  • If Eat First closes, I’m going to be really bummed. I don’t want to haul out to far north Rockville for authentic Chinese food.

Maybe PoPVille can run a post for authentic – I mean China-authentic, not merely good-but-Westernized – Chinese restaurants in DC itself. (Eat First and Full Kee are China-authentic, Mei Wah and City Lights are good-but-Westernized.)
