Rose’s House Party at Compass Rose Every Saturday Night in Feb. (kicking off this Friday)

1346 T Street, NW

From an email:

“Rose’s House Party will be happening every Saturday night in February at 10:00pm at Compass Rose, “playing all the music you didn’t know you wanted to hear”…. In addition to tapping a keg of craft beer and pouring from a satellite bar (Solo cups and Sharpie included) we are bringing in a different D.C. DJ every Saturday this month . The line up is amazing! We are not becoming some crazy K street club though, no. We are trying to create a chill space where people can hang out with friends and enjoy some great music, food (late night khachapuri) and drinks.

The month of music is being kicked off by a good friend of Compass Rose, DJ Dirty Hands this Friday night (2/6). DJ Dirty Hands is a legend in DC and has been kind enough to help us arrange this event. After the kick off tomorrow he is quickly followed by his friend, DJ Stylus Chris on Saturday night. Then we have a different DJ each Saturday for the rest of the month. Including, DJ Trayze who just won the DC qualifier in the Red Bull Thre3Style competition. He will be representing DC in their national championship later this month.

  • Was there any opposition to this restaurant when it was proposed? I wonder because it seems like they are now trying to turn into a club (or at least like the downstairs of St Ex) at night. I’m actually not opposed to any of this, but I can imagine what the neighbors might think. Isn’t this near the block known for a lot of Nimby opposition?

  • OMG DJ Dirty Hands! I used to follow him religiously, he’s great at spinning old school and new school hip hop. I’m there!

Good to know Compass Rose is still keeping REAL DJs alive in DC. So sick of the “djs” nowadays who play from their computers and play brodance music.

    • I was just going to comment that these are the most BRO-TASTIC DJs in the city, not likely to be playing anything you haven’t heard a-tray-zillion times before. Not that they are unskilled, quite the opposite, but very lowest common denominator.

  • How is the food in this place?

  • There was considerable neighborhood opposition to this place before it opened, but since it opened they’ve demonstrated that it really is the “chill” establishment that they always promised it would be — so the neighbors have really come around.
