715 Kenyon Street, NW

I’ve been dying to see how this new building turned out. From their website:

“KENYON STREET FLATS

BRAND NEW – six unit apartment building in Columbia Heights
4 Two-bedroom/two-bath and
2 Three-bedroom/two-bath residences”

You can see what the units look like inside here.

I was able to get a couple of prices:

UNIT #3 2BR/2BA $2,550/mo
UNIT #4 3BR/2BA $3,550/mo
Parking $85/month

There is an open house Thursday 6-8pm.

I dig the exterior. Not my personal style, but I appreciate having something unique that looks well executed.

  • My ex-bf use to live in the house that previously occupied this lot. It was a smart move to demo that place and start anew. It was *gross*.

  • Seems pretty pricey, but I guess it is brand new.

  • I was just noticing this building earlier today while driving on Georgia Avenue — I didn’t realize the units were just now coming available.
    .
I wouldn’t be so keen on the building design if it were plunked in the middle of a bunch of rowhouses, but it looks MUCH better than the garden-style apartment building on the one side or the decrepit buildings (I think an extension of Morgan’s Seafood?) on the other.

    • Good Lord, what might be living at the Morgan’s building is scary. Also, how is it not condemned by now?

    • One of those decrepit buildings is an apt building now (that I happen to live in). It looks pretty shitty still from the outside, but inside the units are all renovated with granite, stainless, hardwood floors, etc. and I was one of the first tenants to sign a lease so I got a pretty ridiculous deal considering the area in what is basically a new apartment. I figured I can put up with a building that looks shady from the outside for a while…plus probably less of a chance we get robbed that way.

  • Are those prices legit? I really have no idea about the rental market – is that realistic for a 3 BR?

  • Those are really nice units! They clearly spent a bit more money to put in slightly higher-quality finishes, which makes a big difference.
