Your Afternoon Animal Fix

If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share please shoot me an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. Your photos will go into the queue and will be posted in the order I receive them. If you’ve already entered your pet and would like to do so again – that’s no problem – just space the entries out a bit.

“On March 1, Mikey passed away after twelve years in DC and 17 years of life. He spent his first five years in Florida with two kooky and loving family members, who passed him on to his next kooky and loving person. Together they shared homes in Mt. Pleasant, Cleveland Park, and Columbia Heights. He is missed terribly.”

“I’m writing to express my appreciation for the security staff at Old Soldier’s Home, MPD, and the Washington Humane Society. Today, our sweet, nervous rescue beagle got away and made her way over to Old Soldier’s Home. She is very skittish and really only responds to my husband and I. Thankfully, the wonderful security staff along with MPD and the Washington Humane Society spotted her and kept an eye on her until I could get there to bring her home. We are so grateful.

Attached is a photo of Cleo sleeping soundly – she certainly needs it after her big adventure today!”

Aww Meow Meow reminds me of a kitty I used to have name Jasper de Groote. Cute pink toes.

  • I am so happy that Cleo is back with you! PEOPLE PLEASE!!!!!! There are way too many dogs getting away from their owners on this website. I’m not saying this to blame, I am saying this help you all undertand how to properly leash your pet to make sure they can’t twist out of their collar or back out of a harness. I walk shelter dogs. At many shelters they use the type of restraint that goes around the chest and under the front legs of the dog AND a collar with the leash attached through the rings of both devices. Also, make sure your pooch has good ID tags and a microchip. Call a shelter and ask them how to leash your pup. they will tell you.

  • Mikey is such a beautiful orange tabby. My heart goes out to you.
