What a great location!!! Almost the best street in the city.
The ad copy (“PROFESSIONALLY DECORATED” / “MOVE IN W/ TOOTHBRUSH & WARDROBE”) looks familiar, as do the clashing prints/patterns. Has this same house been posted before? Or is this the same decorator doing his/her work on another house??
this same place was posted back in april for $400/mo. less (and personally i felt it was too high back then):

Interesting. You’d think that if the place didn’t rent, the owners would lower the price rather than raise it.
Ah, here we go (from April 17, 2012):

So it’s $1,566 per person plus utilities (probably tack on another $100 per person) and it’s a 15 minute walk to Columbia Heights metro? Sorry but I don’t see this as a good deal, even taking into account how crazy DC rental prices are.
Living room and front porch look nice, the orange in the living room is a bit too bold.
And it’s always a red flag when someone submits 24 pictures and not one of them are of any of the bedrooms or bathrooms (or kitchen).
Yes I realize they submitted the same 6 pictures 3 times.
There are pictures of the bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen in the full listing. If you thought the orange walls were bad you should see the bathrooms…
ok, so I see the full listing here:

It’s nice that they fully furnish the place (even the linens) but I don’t agree with the colors of the bathrooms and a lot of other things.
They even furnished the 3rd bedroom as an office, so you’d have to move around that room.
And are they really going to find 3 people with absolutely no furniture or personal belongings?
The greed is strong with this one.
Maybe they’re looking for a diplomat/world bank type. I think that’s around the amount embassies give diplomats to pay for housing.
Let’s just say that someone has a very distinctive decorating style. I’m not sure what I would call it…maybe Miami Vice meets Saudi Sheik with jsut a smidge of 50s Happy Days bathroom tile thrown in to preserve the historical integity of the home.
Looks like the decorator is the same person who did set design for Beetlejuice.
Just ghastly. A beautiful house where each room is worse than the next. the area would be fine for a homebody, but otherwise a car is pretty necessary. No mention of a garage or parking space.
