Your Afternoon Animal Fix

If you have any fun or interesting animal/pet photos please shoot me an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say what neighborhood you’re from or upload to the PoPville flickr pool with your pets name and neighborhood. I can’t guarantee I’ll get them all posted but I’ll do my best.

“This is my dog Miles who passed away on Saturday. He was the sweetest, most happy-go-lucky boy in the world, and as you can see he loved tennis balls. He lived in Columbia Heights.”

Very sorry for your loss.

“This is Leo from Columbia Heights, named after the venerable Leonardo DiCaprio, circa 1998.”

  • R.I.P Miles. I’m approaching the one year anniversary of putting my dog down in a couple of weeks.

  • So sorry about Miles. His smile is infectious- keep lots of happy pictures around to remind you of his great life.

  • Miles does look like a happy little boy. Just know he is smiling down on you from doggie heaven – tennis ball in tow.

  • Sorry to hear about Miles – he looks like he was a Very Good Dog.

  • I’m very sorry to hear about Miles. I’m going to give my puppy an extra hug tonight in his honor.

  • Happy trails and tennis balls, Miles. And to his owner, condolences. You probably made him as happy as he made you.

  • So sorry to hear about Miles. You have my sympathy.

  • I’m so sorry about Miles. He looks like he knew how loved he was.

  • So sorry about Miles. A very cute little guy, and I agree with angrychicken – he does look like he knew how much you loved him, especially with that smile!

  • RIP Miles – I am sure they have plenty of tennis balls and squirrels at the big dog park in the sky.

  • And about the other pets shown, you’re adorable. What a sweet face on Toby.

  • My partner and I were at City Paws on Saturday when a dog similar to Miles was brought to be put down. If it was him, he appeared to be a very sweet dog and you could tell that he knew how loved he was. We both left the office teary-eyed.

So so sorry about Miles. We lost our dog about a month ago. It’s heartbreaking, but it does shift over time. We now find ourselves talking about her and smiling at some of our memories of her rather than just feeling grief. Dogs are special creatures on this earth and live inside us after they are gone, or at least that is how it feels to me.

  • So sorry for your loss. I just lost my buddy a couple of weeks ago. Best wishes and thoughts to you.

  • The loss of a pet is indescribable. Lots of luck to you in grieving, and when you’re ready, there’s another furball waiting for you somewhere.

  • Poppy and Miss Moneypenny, Miles’ neighbors and PoP regulars, miss him very much and will continue to wander next door and cherish his memory. We miss you, sweet Miles.

  • Sorry to hear about Miles. Let me know if you want to talk.

  • Thank you all for your very kind words about Miles. I’m so touched. JW, that was us at CityPaws this weekend–thanks for your kind thoughts, and Queenedix I feel lucky to have you and your kitties as neighbors.
