  • Regarding the Shepherd St. shooting: I heard about 5-7 shots – looks like they came from the alley behind my house in the 900 block of Shepherd St.

  • I woke up this morning to find emergency medical waste strewn on my sidewalk and a news van across the street. After I picked up the junk so the kids wouldn’t see it,I saw on the news that there was a shooting on 9th. The guy that was shot made it to my street(Crittenden). He died next door. The police are looking for three juveniles . . .

  • Ah yes, more prestigous punks graduating from DYRS! Tolerate and incubate it some more.

    • Seriously though, something needs to be done about DYRS. I’m all for giving juveniles a second chance, but I’m also for not having to live in constant fear of being mugged or worse by violent kids.

  • It could be a long summer…

  • My grandmother, who became a bit of shut-in later in life, used to listen the police/EMS scanner all the time. Email, Twitter, etc. are the scanners of our time.

  • There’s an app for that too. 5-0 Radio.I think I’ll be using it more, but may not need it if people keep dying in front of my house.

  • I still listen to the police scanner on occasion through my iPhone (app entitled Police Radio).

  • The iphone app is pretty slick – the only thing I don’t like about it is it scans all 7 districts and there’s no way to ‘hold’ it on whichever district you want to listen to, so a shooting in 3D may scan to a traffic stop in 7D.

  • Summer in the District! Yay!

  • Ignacio, take your racist *** somewhere that they actually care what you think. People like you ought to be locked up.

  • I knew his name before I found the report- the memorial has already been hung.
