From the 1400 block of Swann St, NW.
Thanks to a reader for sending in this one from Pennsylvania Ave, SE.
I’ll try to stop by and get a closeup to properly appreciate it.
These great transoms are from Dupont.
“Dear PoP,
Friends of mine just bought and renovated a house in Petworth and they even designed a transom and had it custom made for the front. I might be biased, since they’re friends, I think it fits into the “awesome transom” category so I wanted to share.”
Looks great!
I think this is the first mosaic style transom I’ve ever seen.
Here’s a couple non house number transoms.
Ah hell, here’s one more with numbers:
Another double today – which do you prefer? Today I vote for the below.
I noticed so many sweet transoms this week. It’s my record for one weekend – 17 sweet transoms. But don’t worry I promise I won’t post them all this week. Which do you prefer out of these two? I vote the one above.
While I’m getting better at picking out the really old ones – seeing a window frame like these are a good indication that they are legit old school. These are from 13th St, NW.
“Dear PoP,
We want to replace our current, boring clear glass with a transom. Do you know of any designers or can you ask for recommendations?”
We looked at some recommendations here but if anyone has other recommendations please leave in the comments.
These two beauties are from Capitol Hill.
