In addition to what you’d like to see happen, what do you think actually will happen at the RFK site? When do you think it’ll happen?

From Council Chair Phil Mendelson:

“DC Council Chairman Phil Mendelson released a statement following the announcement by Congressman Comer of a bill to transfer by a long-term lease the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Campus site to the District. (more…)

Thanks to John for sending:

“Attempting to access the Arboretum I was redirected due to a truck that was too tall to make it through the railway overpass on Bladensburg Road and got smushed. I ended up being forced onto NY Ave/Rte 50, and then Kenilworth Ave/295 South. I worked at the Atlanta Olympics so when I exited at Benning Road this logo caught my eye. 26 years after the fact, people are still being directed to RFK for Olympic soccer qualifying matches.”

Also, check out this “old super 8 footage that my grandparents shot, and here we stumbled upon their footage of a Redskins game sitting on the field at the old RFK stadium back in the 1960s.” (more…)

Somehow didn’t hear it yesterday, and it goes on until at least 11pm tonight (Sunday) which feels kind of nuts to me. I can’t even imagine how loud it is for neighborhoods even closer. (more…)

“Round five of the 2002 ALMS visits Washington D.C. at the RFK Stadium street circuit.”

Oh wow, for those who missed out on this – it was awesome! Well it was either awesome or awful depending on who you ask. If you lived nearby it was LOUD. Anyway if PoPville was publishing in 2002 the comments would’ve broken the site for sure. I happened to come across this in an unrelated search and it is awesome. Or awful depending on who you ask. Have a look for yourselves: (more…)
