The Daydreamerz
FFO: Hiatus Kaiyote, The Roots, D’Angelo, Erykah Badu
The Daydreamerz are a genre-blurring band from the DMV-to-Baltimore corridor— fusing R&B, jazz, rock, gospel, and neo-soul. With origins spanning Guatemala, Nigeria, Trinidad and Tobago, Philadelphia, and the Bay Area, they embody Black and Brown unity through a singular, soulful sound.
Broo Stoo
FFO: Homeshake, Kaytranada, Gorillaz
Broo Stoo is the solo project of Maryland based musician/producer Brody Steck. From the artist: “For about a year I had been sporadically making these more electronic focused pop songs, experimenting with hardware and software that had always intimidated me (auto-tune, SP404, drum machines). I was never planning on putting out a solo release but when I finished the track “Electric Consideration” it really felt like a sort of thesis statement for the project so I went back to my demos and spruced them up to get ready to put out as one EP.” Broo Stoo’s first single “Touchdown” is out now and the whole Electric Consideration EP will be out later this summer! Brody Steck is also a founding member of local bands Makeup Girl and Trinomial.
