Gardening 102

Join us for Gardening 102, a relaxed, beginner-to-intermediate workshop for folks who want to level up their home gardening game—whether you’re working with a few pots on a porch or a full raised bed setup. We’ll cover the core stuff that actually makes gardens thrive: soil health, watering (too much vs. too little), mulching, composting, light, fertilizing without getting overwhelmed, crop rotation, seed starting, transplanting, and more, plus we’ll dig into the real questions people always ask (like whether you should prune tomatoes, what kind of trellis works best for peas vs. cucumbers, why we sometimes use tomato cages for squash, and which perennials are great for low-maintenance growing). The workshop includes a guided farm walk led by Jose and deputy farm manager Nora, so you’ll see real examples across our native beds, community plots, production rows, and eco-lawn—and you can ask questions as we go.
