One for the Bay Social Hour with The Nature Conservancy:

“McCormick and Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant
1652 K Street NW
September 4, 2013 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

The Nature Conservancy and the Oyster Recovery Partnership (ORP), along with other groups, are working together on the largest oyster restoration project on the Chesapeake Bay. The oyster reef will cover over 350 acres: that’s bigger than the National Mall in Washington, DC!

To help raise awareness about this incredible project, McCormick and Schmick’s has become the exclusive restaurant partner of the campaign. The restaurant will host a “One for the Bay” social hour at its K Street location on the first Wednesday of every month from April to October. There you can meet Conservancy and ORP staff, learn more about oyster restoration, and find out how you can help.

But please no personal attacks and no need to correct people’s grammar. This is a place to vent and/or celebrate things about daily life in DC.

From MPD:

“Chief Lanier greets the newest member of the Force, Sam. Sam is a bloodhound and is trained to track human scent. While we have several dogs that are trained to conduct human tracks, this dog’s sole purpose is to track people- even over long distances. This will be especially helpful when looking for missing persons.”
