Ellen Richardson, a graphic designer and Pleasant Plains resident, created the blog, Listed District. Listed District offers daily DC Craigslist findings of everything from Mid-Century and Industrial furniture, to bikes and the utterly strange.  Every week Ellen is going to share a roundup of some Phenomenal Finds with PoPville.

I find that it sometimes pays to jump on a Craigslist pair – they can be difficult to come across. Don’t need two? Just sell the other back onto CL to help defray the cost – but don’t be a jerk and charge triple for one what you paid for the pair…or charge triple for one what you paid for two and call it entrepreneurship…? Today’s Listed District roundup serves up some matchy-matchy finds for your pairing pleasure. Happy Hunting!

Movie night at Harrison Recreation Center:

Harrison Recreation Center
1300 V St NW
Wednesday, September 26th, 2012
7:00pm – 10:00pm | FREE!

We will be having our final movie of the year – Pelican Brief – on September 26th at Harrison Recreation Center, on V Street between 13th and 14th Streets, NW. This 1993 classic features Julia Roberts and Denzel Washington where a law student writing a brief on the assassinations of two Supreme Court justices, finds bullets flying in her direction and she turns to a reporter for help. This features scenes in our own’s Ben Chili Bowl on U Street.

Local businesses Marvin, The Gibson, Patty Boom Boom, and Blackbyrd are providing a DJ starting at 7:00pm. Screening begins after sundown (at around 8:00pm). All movies are shown outdoors in a family-friendly environment and are free and open to the public. You may want to bring a blanket to sit on, and sweater/coat to keep warm. Sorry, dogs are not allowed in the park. Donations and sponsorships are accepted at movies.ustreet-dc.org and will benefit Friends of Harrison Recreation Center (part of U Street Neighborhood Association), a friends of group formed in 2009 that works directly with the DC Department of Parks and Recreation on capital improvements and design changes, and enhancing park management and programming.
