Dear PoPville readers,

Hi everyone! This is Ogi, the Operations Manager at Well-Paid Maids. As you may know, our company is the D.C. area’s only living-wage home cleaning service. All our employees make at least $17/hour and receive a full benefits package including 22 paid days off, health, dental and vision insurance, and 100% employer-paid commuting.

As you may also know, our business was shut down from mid-March through August. When we started back up again after being closed for so long, no one knew how it was going to go. For example, our staff had many new procedures to follow such as temperature checks, symptom assessments, wearing masks, sanitizing between appointments and switching over to disposable cleaning supplies.

And our customers had some new rules too, such as wearing a mask while providing home access, vacating their home during the cleaning, and letting cleaners open windows while they work for increased ventilation.
