I took an excursion to Mt. Pleasant this weekend and came upon this apartment building at Park Road and Mt. Pleasant Street. Pretty cool that all the residents agreed to this. How many languages do you recognize?

I have previously illustrated how there seems to be a disturbing number of flimsy signs popping up at new stores all over town. So, I’ve decided to start a war against those who use these signs. By highlighting outstanding signs, I hope to shame those who throw up weak banners. Outstanding sign number one is this beautiful Shoe Repair sign from Mt. Pleasant Street.

I don’t know if it makes me want to buy a house or go get some lunch…

It says something like ‘Congregating in a group of two or more for the purpose, sale or use of drugs is an arrestable offense and you can be imprisoned for no more than 180 days and/or fined $300.’ What the hell is this? Isn’t selling or using drugs always an arrestable offense? Or are they saying that they can arrest you merely for being in a group of two or more? No, you have to be using or selling drugs right? So why don’t they just arrest for that? I’m so confused.

sounds much classier than no loitering. But that is not why I posted this picture. I posted this picture because this sign is on a building right next to a new luxury condo building. So how do you market a luxury condo that sits directly next a building that apparently has or has had a vagabundo problem?

So we’ll be safe from the Reds?

So who would make the mistake that this rusty, open to the elements container could possibly hold potable water?

Dang, now that they mention it, who would feed my fish? Do they have insurance that would take care of that?

I get it. Cardozo was a Supreme Court justice. But that has got to be the worst name for a mascot. Maybe the Fightin’ Clerks would be a bit better…

Try driving down 13th Street around Girard on a Sat. They are not that regular, I believe the last one was about two months ago. But if you are lucky enough to catch them, they do a great job for only 8 bucks. Plus you are supporting Second Genesis Treatment Center. They help folks out with drug and alcohol addictions as well as needy single parents.
