I think I may have shown this sign before but I wanted to add it to this series. It is pretty fresh, yeah?

A reader sent in this beauty.
She writes:
“I spotted a great one this weekend…perhaps out of the PoP reading area (Adelphi, MD), but worth a visit!”
Phenomenal!

Thanks a million to a reader for sending this one. She writes:
“This old school Coke sign was “revealed” a couple of years ago when workers tore down one building (on 5th St., near R I think) to build a new condo; the new condo again blocks the old Coke sign. It makes me wonder what other hidden signs there are around the city.”

“Steaks and other fine foods”. Too good. Too good.

A classic noted by many located on Georgia Avenue near Looking Glass Lounge. Sadly, it has been closed for years.

These signs were up last year as well, I guess this building at the end of Mt. Pleasant Street puts up these signs every winter? I think it’s fantastic.

Check out the look of terror in the eyes of the fish.

I love this one located on S Street just east of 14th Street. It’s not clear if the restaurant is getting renovated and will remain with the same owner or if it will be an entirely new business. (This is the building located right next to the Garden District.)

Ugh, this sign on the 800 block of Upshur kills me every time I see it. We spoke about it back in June. I thought you’d be eager to know that they’re looking to higher hire a pizza man and fry cook.

I should be more hopeful because I suppose it’s possible that the pizza will be good. I come from the NY point of view which holds that the more pizza places there are the better. And God knows there are some great pizza spots in NYC with horrible signage. I’ll gladly take that trade. So I’m gonna pray that this place is good and I’ll give them mad props if the pizza is quality, hell I’ll give them mad props if the “things” are good…

I can’t stand when I see these ads by Chevron or other big oil companies that tout how environmentally friendly they really are. Allow me to call bullshit on this! Please. It’s like the tobacco companies saying they support cancer research…
