I was trimming the hedges yesterday and in one bush there was a bird’s nest inside. Awesome. However, when I unknowingly got a bit too close, one of the birds dive bombed my head for like 5 minutes as I ran across the street from the attack waving my hedge clippers around like a madman in an attempted defense. I think my neighbor is still laughing…

I’m hearing very sad news that there was a terrible accident this morning at 14th and Constitution Ave, NW involving a Bike and an SUV with a very serious injury possibly a fatality. Update from @dcfireems:

“Update – 14th St – EMS evaluated & transporting adult female Priority 2(serious,non-life threat)-cyclist struck,trapped under car”

For a long time now we’ve had a random reader rant/revel post on Mondays and Fridays. While I was at the beach a couple of weeks ago I posted them for the whole week and I’ve since got some requests to continue a daily RRR/R. I think I’ll post one every morning at 10am and continue the regular schedule of posts after that.

I’ll start with a Rave – Mumford and Sons was great despite the biggest rainfall since Radiohead.

For a long time now we’ve had a random reader rant/revel post on Mondays and Fridays. While I was at the beach a couple of weeks ago I posted them for the whole week and I’ve since got some requests to continue a daily RRR/R. I think I’ll post one every morning at 10am and continue the regular schedule of posts after that.

I’ll start with a reader email sent to me this morning:

“I found a blackberry touchscreen phone at Van Ness metro just before 9am today. It was locked, but had a screen saver of the Capitol. I turned it in to the station manager.”
