If I had any skills at all I think this could’ve made for one sweet desk. Sadly, I have no skills. Well, that’s not true, I am a mediocre tennis player and I speak fake Italian nearly fluently. Anyway, for those that are handy, how hard would it be to restore this desk? Would it even be worth salvaging?
Anyone who has been to the lower level of Looking Glass Lounge may have noticed that there is a bag of water suspended over the entrance to the outdoor patio area. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out it’s purpose other than a weird spot for a goldfish or for popping over an unsuspecting patron’s head. But it turns out it is actually placed there to keep flies out. How this works I have no idea. Has anyone ever heard of this method for keeping flies out? If so, how does it work?
Did you remember Flag day was Saturday? I was impressed to spot some bunting. You don’t see bunting on private homes too often this century. Props to this house for kicking Flag day like it was meant to be kicked.
When I was walking through Adams Morgan on Sat. I entered the residential section of Calvert St. and noticed an impromptu sort of yard sale. But the goods were all hand designed by Gretchen Cook of Fiber Arts Design. She sells “hip, urban crafts, clothing and jewelry with a contemporary aesthetic”. I’m pretty sure most people and certainly most mail carriers are aware that the little slot found in the middle of a door is for mail. I think labeling it as such might not be necessary…

This has got to be the best name plate ever seen in the city and possibly in the entire continental United States. Fastidious accounting service. Well, is there any other kind? And I don’t know why but the fact that his last name is Redhead just makes it all the more sweet. Aren’t redheads known for being anything but fastidious?
