I noticed this US Boundary marker in Mt. Pleasant and couldn’t think of the country it bordered. Is this like a Ceuta and Melilla situation?

I always love spotting ‘House for Sale’ signs that have the picture of the realtor(s) on them. Many of these photos often look like Christmas shots taken in the mid to late 80s. In this particular photo check out the sweet sky blue background in the portrait. It doesn’t get any better than this.

No fancy marketing here. No insane graphics or ridiculous logo. I like it. Although, it is much more fun spotting ridiculous logos, graphics and/or tag lines…

This seems to be making a little extra unnecessary work for oneself, yeah? I guess the idea is so that the recycle can doesn’t wind up half way down the alley but it seems like it’d be a pain in the ass to lift that thing when it’s full and all. Just seemed a bit odd to me. I bet you that is one wicked clean house on the inside though…

That’s some nice urban recycling… What is that anyway a milk jug?

I don’t really even have a good guess for this one – Barbados maybe?

So who exactly would be looking for antique water radiators? I thought we are all moving to forced air anyway. So anyone know what’s happening with this building on 14th Street near Cork anyway? Is it just becoming condos or will there be some ground floor retail as well? A photo of the building being renovated after the jump. (more…)

My guess was it was used to load coal? Any other ideas?

Won’t the mice, pigeons and/or squirrels realize that the plastic owl is in a cage and thus pose no threat? Personally, I wasn’t nearly as frightened as I normally get when I encounter plastic owls…

I did a double take when I went to get my Saturday afternoon Slush Puppie at the gas station at the corner of 15th and U. I don’t know if they’ve installed televisions because people were buying huge SUVs that took a while to fill up or if they installed them because gas is becoming so expensive they were looking for ways to distract the customer so they wouldn’t realize they just paid 68 bucks to fill up their minivans. I think this idea may backfire though as watching six minutes of CNN has been known to cause outbreaks of violence, depression, irritable bowels, feinting, vomiting and nausea. If you are nursing or pregnant definitely avert your eyes if Wolf Blitzer is on.
