The good news that the water advisory has been lifted for Shaw/Logan came after the filming – so imagine me saying hurrah!

Ed. Note: If you have any questions you’d like me to answer about PoPville please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘What’d I Miss’ in the subject line. You can ask really anything you’d like – from specific to philosophical. But no grammar questions. You can also tweet questions to @PoPville though I prefer email if possible. I’m gonna try to keep this around 10 minutes. What’d I Miss is done on one take with no editing so please don’t be too mean to me!

Update: MPD says the body found in Meridian Hill Park is still “an undetermined death at this time.” In happier news the Sheltie has been found!

This PoPtrekker was a reader request. It was not possible to mention all the sights on U Street (there are just too many) so I decided to focus on some that may fall slightly below the radar and new development. True story: I thought the filming was on Sunday but it really was Saturday, so I double timed it down there and was 45 minutes late. Sorry IA! As a result I was a little frazzled in the begining and prattle on a bit in front of the Japanese market and Healing Center but it smooths out after that. Sorry ’bout that!

In a previous PoPtrekker we looked at Georgia Ave. south of the metro. I received many emails requesting north Georgia Ave. be featured. So here we are. A couple of things, this one runs a bit longer than past ones but we still had to cut out some notable spots. It’s just impossible to get everything. Also, I think I say “umm, ahh” about 127 times. As is certainly no surprise, PoPtrekker is filmed without a script and pretty much all on one take. So I use the “umms, and ahhs” to think about what I’m gonna say. But I’ll definitely work on that for future volumes.

First, there is a strip mall where I mention that it reminds me of one on 13th Street that got torn down. That was an error, of course I was thinking of the Nehemiah Shopping center that got torn down on 14th Street near Chapin. Second, I have to tell my mom – yes, I’m gonna get a haircut soon!
