“Dear PoPville,

Service Year Alliance is organizing in DC — expect to see an unprecedented number of dinosaurs during your morning commute!

On the morning of Wednesday, August 30th, dozens of national service supporters dressed in large, inflatable dinosaur costumes will take to the streets of DC to stop national service extinction. President Trump’s budget proposes the elimination of national service programs like AmeriCorps and outlines the largest cut to the Peace Corps by a President in 40 years. We’re taking action to tell Congress to stop national service extinction and #LetUsServe.

Dinosaurs will be stationed at the following locations from 7:30AM-9:30AM on Wednesday, August 30th: (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

This Adams Morgan Girl living in the shadow of Pence’s daily helicopter flights, having grown tired of looking to the sky with disdain, has taken her voice to the mountaintop of rowhouse roofdom. I call all like-minded Washingtonians to join suit in spreading the message from one rooftop to the next, all across our fine Swamp.”

“Dear PoPville,

Just realized that on Sept. 16 DC will play host to:

-The Mother of All Rally’s “Patriot” Unification Gathering

-The Juggalo March

H Street Festival

Thought you (and readers) might be interested those events all coincide. Hopefully it means H Street Festival will be clear of any MAGA hats. But, lord, help anyone who has sh*t to do that Saturday. It’s going to be an intense day for the city.”

“Dear PoPville,

I can’t believe I’m even asking this, but do you have more info on where the Nazis will be marching on Saturday? Apparently there’s a rally planned for DC but I can’t find info on where or when. (For counter protests, obviously.)

Sigh.”

Good news the Alt Right March against google offices was cancelled! Anyone know of a separate Nazi march in D.C.?

UPDATE:

“Dear PoPville,

In light of the protests in Charlottesville this weekend, we were pretty shocked to see this collection of bumper stickers on the highway down to Richmond. Upon closer examination we noticed the diplomatic plates. The internet says diplomatic license plates in the US are issued in a specific letter format, which identifies this car as a non-diplomatic staff member (S) for Germany (LW)! Do embassies have rules or recommendations against this kind of expression?”
