I’d never heard of Zenobia Lounge (careful loud music plays on Web site) before but went to check it out when I heard they were applying for a liquor license. They are located at 1025 31st, NW. You can see their menu here. There was a nice Middle East vibe going on and the liquor application also says that they have a hookah bar. Adding an alcohol option seems like a natural progression here. Any fans?

Here’s what it looks like on the inside looking at the gift shop towards the dining area:

And here’s the back hookah area:

Arisu was located at 1734 Wisconsin Ave NW. I thought this was a restaurant we judged but I can’t seem to find it. Yelp reviewers gave them fairly high marks. I’ll be sure to update when info becomes available when a new tenant moves in. In the meantime, are there any good places to get Korean in DC?

The flier says:

“Second Empire Victorian (1868) restored in 2005 sits on a double landscaped and private lot in East Village with 2 car parking. Absolutely bathed in sunlight from large windows on the east, west and south sides of the house. Extraordinary living and entertaining space. 12′ ceilings on entry level, 11′ ceilings on upper floor, Grand entry foyer, mahogany library, renovated eat-in kitchen.”

You can find more info here and a virtual tour here.

I knew when I saw “Second Empire Victorian” this was gonna be good. Actually just walking by it on the street, it’s pretty jaw dropping. What do you think of the inside?

It’s yours for $5,600,000.

Cafe La Ruche is located at 1039 31st Street, NW in Georgetown. Place looks super cool from the outside, I’m wondering if it’s just as good inside? They’re doing a bit of work on their Web site but you can still see some of their menus here.

Any fans?

The flier says:

“The superb renovation of this 1923 Sears Arts and Crafts bungalow transformed it into a near 6,000 SF home meeting all of today’s standards. The home features 6 Bdms, 4 1/2 Baths, a 500 SF Kitchen equipped with the most sophisticated appliances and a luxurious sunken Living Room with an impressive rear wall of glass letting in the most glorious views. This home is the ultimate in easy, elegant living.”

You can find more info here and photos here.

While I’m sad there’s not a proper virtual tour, the photos shown are still pretty sweet. How does this house rank among other house porn we’ve looked at? Is this the mother of all bungalows? It’s yours for $2,950,000.

The Craigslist ad says:

$1300 sound reasonable for this studio?

Georgetown Wing Co. has opened at 3291 M Street NW upstairs from Crepe Amour.

And I feel like I’ve seen this sign for a while so I wonder if Georgetown Scoops is still coming to 2818 Wisconsin Ave, NW.

The last few times I’ve walked past the Philadelphia Water Ice at 2620 Georgia Ave, NW it has been closed. Since their phone is disconnected I’m assuming this as permanent. Anyone know when they closed?

I know lots of folks have been waiting for this day. The new store will be located at 1229 Wisconsin Ave, NW and will be open Friday from 5pm – 9pm. Regular store hours will be:

Mon – Sat:
10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Sun:
11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

While it remains business as usual for some, many others can soon rejoice. From an email:

“In celebration of our new store, current Mac owners can buy a One to One membership, normally available only with the purchase of a new Mac. Plus, the first 1000 customers get a free commemorative T-shirt.”

Thanks to a reader for the heads up about the new signage at Dodge City at 917 U St, NW.

And a second hand clothing store (though there will be some new items as well) is opening up at 3531 14th St, NW. This is the storefront that was going to house the Guatemala Bakery.

The coming soon sign for UGG is at 1249 Wisconsin Ave, NW.
