From an email:

“From being the first to supply the now-famous “Landfill Harmonic” Paraguayan children with instruments to servicing nearly 100 instruments for D.C.’s Jefferson Academy, over the past 20 years, D.C.’s Middle C Music (4530 Wisconsin Ave. NW) has been a pillar of the local community and beyond. When word got out in 2004 that the nearby Best Buy was going to build a music store, the community successfully organized on Middle C’s behalf and Best Buy pulled out. LEON CITY SOUNDS
$20 / Doors at 8:00 / All Ages

Third wave ska stalwarts THE SCOFFLAWS return to DC from Long Island after over 20 years! Originally formed in 1988, they are one of the most beloved acts from the Moon Ska roster of the 1990s. The band is known for their high energy live shows, technically proficient horn solos and tight arrangements, and eclectic covers of jazz standards.

THE FUSS is a dynamic ska, rocksteady, and early reggae band from Washington, D.C. Their sound pays tribute to the music of 1960’s Jamaica and the British Mod scene, while putting modern slant on these timeless styles.

You’re invited to submit your feedback from Nov. 18 through Dec. 30.

The proposed improvements would improve the visitor experience while continuing to preserve the history, landscape and resources of the only national park established as a performing arts venue. This EA would amend the Park’s 1997 General Management Plan.

The amendment to the general management plan would allow the park to: (more…)
