“Dear PoPville,

I’m reaching out because I had my first dose of the Pfizer vaccine at the Lamond rec center in NE yesterday. They didn’t give me a date/time for my second appt, but they gave me a link to book a new appt that didn’t show any availability. When I called back to the rec center someone said I could just show up 21 days from today at the same time my appointment was today.

My question for the community is: has anybody had success getting their second Pfizer dose in DC? Is it a safe gamble to just show up three weeks from today and hope for the best?”

“Dear PoPville,

It takes a special kind of lowlife to vandalize a health clinic that only serves the low income, especially during a pandemic. They’re a safety-net clinic. Mary’s Center in Petworth did a lot of COVID-19 testing during the early part of the shutdown. I hope they can splice together security footage to catch whoever did this.”

“Dear PoPville,

I’m curious to hear if any of my fellow DC residents who pre-registered for vaccines received emails/phone calls yet today? I’m just trying to poll the group to ensure the new system is in fact working. With an estimated 13,000 shots available, I figured there had to be a few lucky readers who got their numbers drawn!”

One reader reports at 9:17am: “I got an email to set up an appointment this morning. Scheduled for Tuesday. Seems the system works.”

Anyone else get one?
