Thanks to an alert reader for sending the word (and pic above) about Woodley Park’s newest restaurant. Hot N Juicy Crawfish currently has a Las Vegas location and was featured on Man V. Food.

This looks like it could be the greatest addition to Woodley Park since the Marilyn Monroe mural went up.

You can see their menu here.

They will be located in the old Trattoria Italiana space located at 2651 Connecticut Ave, NW. Which is right next door to Cafe Paradiso undergoing a major renovation of its own (see below).

This rental is located at 2610 Garfield St. NW:

The Craigslist ad says:

“Dapper Studio. One block from Woodley Park Red Line Metro. Fully furnished. Available Dec. 26. All utilities, high-speed cable modem, cable TV, premium movies included in rent. Private entrance (front and rear), private washer/dryer, queen bed, galley kitchen, microwave, garbage disposal. No smoking, no pets.”

Does $1295 sound reasonable for this dapper studio?

Cafe Paradiso is located at 2649 Connecticut Ave, NW in Woodley Park. I happened to notice that they are getting a pretty big renovation (they’ll be closed for the next 2 weeks) but wanted to check in with people if they’re were any fans. You can see their menus here. Any fans or is this for the hotel crowd?

Fro Zen Yo continues to it’s take over of the DC frozen yogurt scene… A couple of weeks ago we learned that Fro Zen Yo will also be opening up a spot at 1636 I St, NW. Though, I suspect this new location, slated to open at 3000 Connecticut Ave, NW, located directly across the street from the zoo, is going to make approximately a zillion dollars when the weather warms up again. Well done, Fro Zen Yo, nicely played!

I’ll admit that I haven’t been following the controversy over 2910 Garfield St. NW too closely. Basically one house was demolished, some “100-year-old oak and red cedar trees” were cut down and the developer plans on building two “5,000-square-foot homes on the site”. I’m saddened by the fact that the old trees were cut down but when I was walking by I couldn’t help but notice what seemed to be a bit of a double standard. Across their street there are a number of rowhouses with signs that say “No Subdivision, No McMansions”. I’m not saying these homes are McMansions but I imagine they are on a plot that was most definitely subdivided. See photo below:

Does $1200 (all utilities included) sound reasonable for this Efficiency?

Pesto was located at 2915 Connecticut Ave, NW right near the National Zoo. We judged it here. I’ve always thought this location had lots of potential. I’ll def. be keeping an eye on this space to see who moves in.

Italian Pizza Kitchen will be located at 2608 Connecticut Ave, NW in the building currently getting renovated and housing the Debonair Cleaners. It’ll be on the left hand side of this rendering:

Italian Pizza Kitchen currently has a location at 4483 Connecticut Ave NW. You can see their menu here. According to their liquor license application:

“Italian restaurant and pizzeria. Occasional karaoke – No nude performances. Sidewalk café with 24 seats. Seating capacity is 70. Total occupancy is 150.”

Nude karaoke certainly would’ve been interesting…
