“So, I noticed that a new Gelato store is going into the Metropole’s empty retail space next to Lulu Lemon.

There’s now a sign up in the window though. Pintango Gelato coming soon!”

The Washington Business Journal wrote back in June:

“”It’s basically going back to the original gelato where it’s a very simple and wholesome dessert, without coloring,” [Noah] Dan said. Prices will range from $4.77 for a regular portion to about $6 for a large serving, big enough for two people, he said. All the gelato will be made in-house, using organic and locally farmed ingredients.”

Any gelato fans out there? How does it differ from regular ice cream?

La Villa is located at 1317 14th Street, NW in the Logan Circle neighborhood. I’m always intrigued by these places that look a little scrappy on the outside. Since we have many “pollo” experts here – what’s the verdict? Do you recommend eating in or takeout? Any specialties?

Mar De Plata is located at 1410 14th St NW. There are some good reviews on Yelp which categorizes it as “Spanish, Tapas Bars, Basque”. As always, how’s the food and atmosphere? Any specialties?

This one is located at the 1400 block of Rhode Island Ave, NW. This one is a bit different from the others in that it only has one curb cut. Do you like this example any better than the past ones?

Here is the one from Woodley Road.

Here is the one from Mt. Pleasant. (Incidentally, I think someone mentioned earlier in the week that one of them is for sale. If someone can find the sales listing I’d appreciate it.)

Here is the one from P Street.

This house is located right off Logan Circle at 1305 Rhode Island Ave, NW:

“This is a wonderful 4 unit building. CofO, business license. Large one BR is owner occupied, English basement, 2nd and 3rd floors are all 2BR 2BA units. In Logan Circle historic district. Just one house off the Circle. Income of $6650 montly for 3 units. One large 1BR is owner occupied.”

More info and a virtual tour can be found here.

What do you think of the exposed wood beams? I think they’re pretty sweet. This is an interesting selection as it is broken up into units and one of the units is already owner occupied. The asking price is $2,100,000. It seems to me that might be worth it if it were for all the units but the fact that one unit is occupied makes me hesitant. That and the fact that I don’t have $2,100,000… What do you think of the house itself?

This bit of graffiti struck me as odd because it looks like the bulk has been covered up by the new building but instead of painting over the last little bit sticking out they decided to let it be. This is located on 14th Street just north of P. I wonder if the folks at the Sam’s Pawn Shop wanted to keep it for posterity.  In an odd way, I kinda dig it.

Stoney’s is located at 1433 P St. NW and is supposed to have some pretty mean burgers. I had eaten at the previous location on L Street, NW but I’ve never been to the Logan Circle spot. So are the burgers just as good here? Any other specialties that you’d recommend? The old spot had a very chill atmosphere, what’s the atmosphere like at this spot?

Updated: Per a commenter’s request, we haven’t had a best burger in DC thread yet, so in addition to noting your thoughts on Stoney’s please add your suggestion for best burger in DC.

This condo is located at 1700 15th Street, NW:

That living room is sweet! What do you think of the rest of the condo? I did a bit of tease with the “under $400k edition” because it’s only a one bedroom/one bathroom. But it’s yours for $359,900. I’m thinking that’s a bit high. What do you guys think? (Next week I’m going to widen the search to include some more neighborhoods, suggestions are always appreciated!)
