4th and Florida Ave, NW

I’ve been getting a few emails about this great old property that we’ve looked at in the past. It seems the same person sent me a question that was also sent to DC Metrocentric. They report:

“The building itself dates back to 1898 and the work you may have noticed going on over the last few days is to bring the stone work and windows into compliance with Historic District requirements.”

The detail really is incredible:

It’ll be great to see it restored.

I finally saw the Yale Lofts located at 4th and New York Ave, NW. It is a huge building.

Anyone check out the units inside? what do you think of the building itself?

And here’s an update on the new building going up at Rhode Island Ave between 5th and New Jersey, NW.

And after the jump is one of my favorite buildings that we’ve seen before from Ledroit Park. (more…)

This building is located at 1838 6th Street, NW:

The flier says:

“Hip & Stylish duplex Penthouse in Booming LeDroit Park/Shaw Neighborhood. Enter this gracious unit on the top two floors, presenting you into the LR/DR with views of the Capitol. Custom Chef’s Kitchen w/ SS Appliances & granite. Lrg private balcony. Continue upstairs to 2 Master Suites w/ granite baths, loads of closets & storage. 2 GARAGE PARKING SPACES & 1 Block to Metro & Shops.”

More info and photos found here.

As I’ve said before I love finding buildings that we’ve judged on the outside so that we can take a peak inside. What do you think of this unit? Does $599,000 sound reasonable?

These homes are all located next to each other on the 500 block of U Street, NW. I’m not sure when they were built/renovated but they all seem in really good condition. I’m wondering which style you like best and, if possible, if you think they fit well with each other?

I’ve never seen a little room off a porch like this before. This could be new favorite coffee spot. It’s from the Bloomingdale LeDroit Park neighborhood.

Here’s a cool split one from LeDroit Park. I think I like the one on the left better. Do you think this was one huge house back in the day?

Oh man this was a good weekend, I got a vestibule and a carriage house! Sweet. This one is from the Bloomingdale or Le Droit Park neighborhood, can’t remember exactly where I was. It is pretty sweet though, yeah?
