On Tuesday, 4/20 Baked & Wired will celebrate an anniversary. For 42,000 hours we have been proudly serving coffee and baked goods to the Georgetown neighborhood. We are delighted to have become a part of the life of the neighborhood.

To give back to the people who have supported us all those hours, we will be celebrating all day! We will be officially unveiling some exciting new coffee offerings, so come on over from 7:00 until 10:30am for a cup of coffee on us.

There will also be giant cupcake raffles all day long, and a giant cupcake eating contest at noon (stop by the store by Monday to enter for a chance to participate). And, of course, we’ll have all your favorite munchies and the usual Baked & Wired shenanigans. We hope you’ll stop by.

Good Samaritan Gets Beaten in Georgetown

From an MPD police report:

“The assault occurred near 30th and M and apparently sparked when a witness observed three subjects in a car that struck a parked car and attempted to leave the scene. The witness apparently told them to leave a note and as a result, he was beaten and kicked by the three. There is no usable description at this point, but detectives are actively following up to see what other information is out there.”

It’s been a while since we checked out some Georgetown house porn. I’m gonna be honest and say this isn’t may favorite one straight off. However, I’m curious to know what you think of the fact that it is leased until 8/31/2012? Who would drop over $2.5 million with such a stipulation?

So what do you think of the house itself? I’m a sucker for bookshelves… Obviously the location is very desirable to many so do you think they’ll get near their asking of $2,750,000?

Sea Room Opens at Cafe Divan

We’ve previously judged Cafe Divan located at 1834 Wisconsin Ave., NW. I just noticed that they have had a grand opening of their Sea Room. Anyone know anything about this? I assume it will specialize in seafood but I didn’t see anything about it on their Web site. Anyone happen to try it out yet?
