Sprinkles Cupcakes is coming to 3015 M St NW. Their Web site says that cupcakes cost $3.25 each or $36 for a dozen. For the cupcake fans out there – is that about the going rate?

They plan on opening up in Feb. ’11.

HomeMade Pizza Co. already has a location at 14th and Church St, NW in Logan Circle. You can see their menu here. They opened the 14th St, NW location back in Jan. ’10. From their Web site:

Back when HomeMade Pizza Co. was just a thought scribbled on a napkin, most people had never heard of bake-at-home pizza. But it seemed like a good idea to us: really delicious pizza that bakes up in minutes, fresh from your own oven. What’s not to like? So in 1997 we set out to do it right, using all-natural ingredients and a dough recipe rolled out over months of taste testing conducted by the toughest critics on the planet: our friends.

Once we finally opened, those who gave us a try really seemed to connect with HomeMade. And with every new neighborhood came more friends looking for quick, easy, amazing dinners. Along the way, we added fresh salads and mouthwatering desserts… and suddenly, here we are.

There new location will be in an old Yoga Studio space (the mural has been painted over) at 1826 Wisconsin Ave, NW. Anyone converted to the take home pizza?

I seem to remember there was some discussion over the summer about Georgetown shops leaving their doors open to invite patrons in but as a result ended up wasting serious air conditioning. Who knew it also applied to Winter. Last weekend I noticed the new Ugg store on Wisconsin Ave had its door propped open on Sunday (it was about 28 degrees outside).

Ridiculous or if they can afford the cost who cares?

Furin’s is located at 2805 M St, NW in Georgetown. Their Web site says:

Any fans? Any must order sandwiches?

Apple store at grand opening located at 1229 Wisconsin Ave, NW

From an MPD alert:

“Yesterday evening, a woman walked out of the Apple Store in the 1200 block of Wisconsin Avenue, NW after purchasing 2 laptop computers. A short time and distance later, while walking from the store to the 3300 block of N Street NW, the woman was robbed by 2 suspects. She was forcefully knocked down to the ground and both suspects escaped with the computers.

I think it’s safe to assume that the victim was followed from the store. The suspects may have been waiting for someone to leave the store with large bags or other obvious indications of a large purchase.

I have placed additional officers in the area and PSA 206 managers are discussing further precautions with the store.

As most of you know, this time of year is a favorite for criminals. They know we’re out shopping and probably not paying much attention to our surroundings. Please make sure to be aware of what’s going on around you; never leave valuables in your cars; and use common sense when leaving stores with large packages. If you see anyone acting suspiciously, call 911 immediately.”
