I’ve often walked by this spot located at 1329 Connecticut Ave., NW. As I’m a huge fan of Italian food I’m dying to know if anyone has been. I feel like this could be a hidden gem. You can see the menu here. Any fans?

Something called Kabaji Grill appears to be building out a space on the 1300 block of Connecticut Ave south of Dupont Circle. Anyone know anything about this restaurant? Is it a chain?

And a few storefronts north on Connecticut we see that wireless services are expanding in all parts of DC. I believe this spot used to house a really nice stationary store. It’s getting harder and harder to find good spots for birthday cards…

A couple weeks ago we discussed this home at 16th and T which faced demolition due to apparent owner neglect. Hat tip to IMGoph for highlighting the news on twitter. The Examiner reports:

“The D.C. government has agreed to pay to stabilize a historic, million-dollar Dupont Circle row house that the private owners let deteriorate until it partially collapsed a year ago. The Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs will spend $225,000 to ensure the house at 1841 16th St. NW doesn’t fall to the ground, agency Director Linda Argo said Tuesday.

…the owners, must reimburse taxpayers for the stabilization work or hire their own contractor to take over the job, DCRA officials said.”

Great news, yeah? Think the taxpayers will actually be reimbursed?

Sweet Green is located at 1512 Connecticut Ave, NW but also has locations in Georgetown and Bethesda. Yo can see their menu here. I’m curious about these new salad places, they seem to be cropping up all over DC. Are the salads that good? For those that like them, do you have a preference between Sweet Green over Chopt? I’ve always liked the greek salad at Cosi… I can’t believe I’m gonna ask this but where can you get the best salad in town?

Ed. Note: I’m fully prepared to get a beatdown from my friends for this one.

These haunting sculptures were found outside 1611 21 Street, NW (fittingly at a home across the street from the Philips Museum.)

Le Pain Quotidien has opened up (in what I think used to be a florist) at the corner of 20th and P Streets, NW. It has an interesting feature called “Communal Table” where “Friends and strangers alike come together around our communal table to break bread and linger for a while.” Lots more info on Web site. Has anyone ever eaten at one of these spots before?

And Pizza Paradiso has moved from 2029 P Street, NW and will open up at 2003 P Street, NW. Not too far…

I’ve always been struck by this building located at Leroy and Connecticut Ave., NW. Perhaps it is just the colors or the sign out front consistently advertising “14 Luxury Apartments”. As self proclaimed royalty myself, the name – King William – also resonates with me. What do you think about the building itself?

Stars is located at 2120 P Street, NW. I just found a gift card I won for this spot a while ago and am wondering what the word is here. I’m intrigued and a perhaps a bit frightened about the “Singing Servers” as mentioned on their Web site. So what’s the word – how’s the food and, of course, the singing?

This is a pretty cool corner at 20th and Florida Streets NW. This cool building is right across the street. But I like the one featured today as it kinda reminds me of a Mexican villa. What do you think thumbs up or down? Anyone know what the apartments are like inside?
