I found lots of great homes in Crestwood on Monday so I thought it only fitting to put one up as the weekly Wed. House Porn GDoN. What do you think of the home itself? It’s yours for $995,000.

Another from Crestwood. I thought the stone on the sides was pretty unusual.

Oh man, I found some great ones in Crestwood/16th Heights area today. This one blew me away. It was west of 16th Street, I think, on Varnum.

This is the worst part of all this rain. I hate losing these great trees. Thanks to a reader for sending this photo from Upshur & Mathewson in Crestwood.

So the rain related question is – can too much rain be bad for a vegetable garden or am I gonna have a bumper crop as a result?

I posted this Russian Orthodox Church almost exactly a year ago. The old camera was starting to go on the fritz then so here’s a better picture. I also wanted to put this up because someone mentioned it in one of the Crestwood posts. It is located at 4001 17th Street, NW.  Aside from the Church itself looking really cool, it is wild how it just pops up after many streets of single family homes.

Apparently in parts of Crestwood. This is near the corner of 18th and Taylor, NW. As I mentioned during the house of the day, I managed to get lost walking around Crestwood. I could’ve sworn I was walking south but somehow ended up north. Anyway, at a certain point I noticed the strangest thing – the sidewalks vanished. I had to walk in the streets like a vagabond. This is something I might expect to see in the far out suburbs or exurbs. But in the city proper. Granted, it is a very lovely quiet neighborhood, but no sidewalks. Terrible. Anyone know why the sidewalks vanish here?

Bunch of cool ones up in Crestwood. Ed. note: I somehow managed to get lost while walking around Crestwood but found some sweet houses that way. I must of looked insane to folks as I was mumbling “where the hell am I” over and over again and then stopping to take pictures. Ha. Sorry bout that.

Sweet details on this house.

This is a wild one I found up in Crestwood. Got a bit of a Middle Eastern flavor. Do you think it works?

So I checked out the Crestwood yard sale this weekend and I, uh, was pretty surprised by this mannequin. I mean it’s a yard sale right? A bit much for a yard sale. Unless they were selling the mannequin, damn why didn’t I think to inquire? I guess she does look a little bit like Kim Cattrall… I’ll have to go back when I get my Vespa.
