I’ve always thought this was a cool house on Florida Ave. west of 14th Street. The street is generally connected rowhomes but at this curve in the street there is one stand alone house.

Surely, I’ve shown this house before. But dang some of them are worthy of multiple posts. For sure this is one of them.

Here’s a wild one from Capitol Hill. I think this pop up works quite nicely. Best part is after the jump. (more…)

I really dig the circular window and the bay window above it.

This isn’t my favorite house but I’ve always been intrigued by homes that once functioned as stores. Do you like these homes that have the big storefront windows?

This home is super cool because it used to be a bank. Ed. Note: Nichole was able to give me a bit of a tour around the Hill and provide some background info – like the fact that this home used to be a bank. Super cool. It also has a very odd lawn decoration.

I always find this big stand alone houses between rowhouses to be unusual. I’m betting there are some amazing original details inside here.

This one gets honors because every single window has some sweet stained glass above it. Sometimes I see homes like this with stained glass above the first floor windows but I’ve never seen second floor stained glass before. Nice. Close ups after the jump. (more…)

I like stumbling upon these mini houses. I think this one is actually a business. Though now that I look at the picture again, the house on the left is pretty sweet too. I like that one window that sticks up above the roof. This is from Georgetown.
