I like the brickwork and the steps up top on this one from Columbia Heights.

I know these are a little bit beat up but what I can I say? I love carriage houses. I also think it’s interesting to compare the two. Note the two bay doors on the one on the left. I wonder if that’s how they originally looked?

This Capitol Hill house has great details:

And some serious hedges:

This house in Shaw on 9th St, NW was really fixed up nicely. And it’s another good example of how good flower boxes can look:

I love the third level porch here. It is really very rare among row houses I’ve seen. This one is from Shaw.
What do you think – do you like the third floor balcony or would you rather have it as living space?
Oh yeah, I also dig the window that sticks out in the alley (see below):

It’s been a while since we’ve seen some carriage houses. These are from Capitol Hill.
Ed. Note: I’m also going through some vestibule withdrawal so if anyone has a good looking vestibule they’d be willing to share please send some pics to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com

Well I’ve run out of cool “double houses” for this week so please accept the last two notable row houses I spotted from the Burleith/Georgetown area.

Continuing this week’s theme of double houses comes a super modern pair from Georgetown/Burleith. The one on the right was a former house porn GDoN post almost exactly a year ago. For the curious it sold for $1,850,000.
After the jump close ups of each side. (more…)

Since I showed a cool double house yesterday, I wanted to share this one which is older style but still an equally cool double house. This one is from Cleveland Park and a couple of houses down is this super fresh porch.

One of my favorites from the 2100 block of Tunlaw Rd, NW. Note it is actually two houses.
