When ordering gifts from the Internet on a site like Amazon, always choose free super saving shipping. Much like Duty Free stores in airports, priority mail is a scam or at the very least a waste of money when ordering gifts on the Web. They say super savers shipping takes 7-8 days to arrive. At least on Amazon when using super savers free shipping it has never taken more than two day for my gifts to arrive.

Congrats to Elizabeth for sending in this dope sky photo. (Ed. note: I haven’t used “dope sky” in a while, I think I’m going to bring it back to the common vernacular with your help.) Anyway, this cranberry set is circa 1969, the year of love of and apparently sweet cranberry sets. Absolutely mouthwatering!
A side note, this photo was taken in the DC neighborhood of Park View. I was pleased to see Elizabeth identify her neighborhood as Park View, many in Park View claim to be from Columbia Heights, it is nice to see some Park View pride.

When should Christmas lights go up? And for that matter when should they come down?

Since this will be my first Halloween in the neighborhood, I was wondering if you could provide some advice on providing candy to trick-or-treaters. Do kids trick-or-treat in Petworth/Columbia Heights?

Hell yes they do! Our cousin to the east, Frozen Tropics,wrote a pretty good post on this topic that is worth checking out.
I can assure you that the kids of Petworth/Columbia Heights trick or treat with gusto! Honest to God you will see some of the cutest kids on the face of the earth. It is true not all will be wearing costumes but who cares?! Buy plenty of candy and be especially prepared during the hours of 6-8pm. In the past I haven’t witnessed any destruction at all (knock wood). This is a great time to become a part of the community. Enjoy!

Let the debate begin. You know what I’m talking about. What a display! This has been one of the wildest performances I have ever seen in Petworth. I feel bad for all the people who treked down to the Mall, only to be evacuated, then having to fight the traffic when they could’ve just come to Petworth! The video below is only a fraction of the visuals. It should give you a good taste though. So what do you think – Awesome? or Next year I’m getting the hell out of dodge?
