This Petworth garden is a perennial favorite for me and a great example of a cinder-block garden. And it doesn’t hurt that the owner is one of the nicest guys in town.

This is one of the nicest tree box gardens I’ve seen this season.

This great one by the gas station off Calvert in Adams Morgan is looking terrific. If memory serves I think it was brand new last year.

Rockin’ the bathtub garden in Capitol Hill (near Barrack’s Row). I’m digging it for real.

The little triangle garden at 4th and Shepherd Streets, NW is looking great again this year. I sometimes can’t believe that this used to be a trash and garbage strewn lot. Mad props to the neighbors who have beautified this space so nicely.

It’s getting towards that time of year when I check out my perennial favorites. This one from Adams Morgan hasn’t disappointed for the 3 years I’ve checked it out for the blog.

A shot of the driveway section (which I hadn’t seen before) and a closeup after the jump. (more…)

This one from Shaw may the best one I’ve seen so far this season.

And I thought the flower below had amazing colors.

Well I’m totally addicted to the Meridian Hill/Malcolm X fountain. Amazingly though I hadn’t realized that it was lined with flowers.

Not everyone has a big back and/or front yard so I wanted to give props to this Dupont stoop which looks awesome.
