I think this may be my last great tree box garden I stumble across before Autumn hits. I’m gonna miss these sights…

This great garden is from Florida Ave, NW in Ledroit Park.

Gotta take in these last few examples of huge banana plants.

I normally don’t think twice about these things (do they have a proper name?) but I thought this one looked really sweet. Incidentally it is located right near the Keegan Theater at Church Street, NW which is a super cool ‘hidden’ theater:

Perhaps I should just call this one – yard of the day. But the afternoon light in Cleveland Park was amazing. I particularly liked how this tree was looking:

These tree boxes are located on Massachusetts Ave, NW just east of 17th Street.

I thought this one from the Logan Circle area was pretty interesting because it was all plants and no flowers. Sweet plants though:

This is so wild. That’s some good watering. When I took a photo of this balcony garden on 16th St, NW overlooking Meridian Hill/Malcolm X Park back in June it looked like this:

This great one is from Columbia Heights and has three great aspects – the flowers, the pots on the stairs, and the flowering vine on the post. Nice.

Here’s another one of my perennial favorites from the Cleveland Terrace apartments (where I imagine folks are always sipping martinis). I think this is their best year yet. While the banana plants are always in full effect this year they’ve added a huge number of flowers. Nicely done.
